Uni-Directional Fabrics

Many engineers take advantage of carbon fiber’s extremely high tensile (longitudinal) strength and design components with uni-directional fabric, also referred to as uni. With uni fabrics the majority of fibers are running the length of the fabric with very few, if any, cross directional fibers. This design allows the fabric to handle highly concentrated loads in specific directions. Uni fabrics are used in everything from aerospace applications to infrastructure repair.
